Captcha If You Can

Captcha’s. Those little boxes with indecipherable sequences of numbers and letters inside of them crossed by lines or pictures or god knows what. You have to enter them correctly to prove that you are in fact a human being when registering on websites etc. Battles rage about the place of Captcha’s in the user experience and whether alternatives are better. That is an argument for another, longer post. (Although I will say that I personally find them terribly frustrating and can never ever get the words right until maybe the 3rd or 4th try. Grr!)

Anyway, I came across this post today which just illustrated what never to do with your Captcha’s!! I would recommend you read the article to hear the story first hand, but just as a visual primer, this is what happens if you incorrectly input a captcha on reddit’s site:

Thats not even humorous!! I get some websites like to employ a playful, jokey tone with their clientele, but that just comes across plain rude!! Bad show Reddit! Check out the article to see the whole-hearted dressing down given to them by both the article and the commenters.
